They call it the ‘Versailles of Languedoc’ for a reason. The limestone turrets and intricate twirls of the French gardens hark back to the age of Louise XIV. An age when Languedoc’s aristocracy, resplendent in their wigs and silks, paraded up and down what is soon to become the sophisticated champagne terrace of a 5-star hotel.

The Château was built in 1619 in a superb setting which dates back to the Gallo-Roman era. It is even claimed that Cliveden in Berkshire, owned by Lord Astor, was modeled after it. Lavagnac is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the finest châteaux in the south of France - and a fitting centre-piece for the region's premiere property development.
